Margin in gastronomy: approx. 400% Margin in clothing: up to 1000% not uncommon (except for discounters) Margin in IT: from "box movers" with 2-3% - ? to VAR with approx. 20-30% So comparing ice cream scoops with houses doesn't help us here ;)

It is not so simple for someone who is making the biggest investment of their life and is completely dependent on the expertise of specialists. For example, sampling for a move-in ready house. There is the construction service description for this, which states, for example, floor tiles brand Villeroy and Boch, series xy, price up to 30 € per sqm, size 60x30 cm and Jolly rails aluminum at building materials dealer xxx in town xxx. The client goes to the building materials specialist dealer, the friendly consultant looks in the sampling folder to see what the planner from the general contractor selected, shows the client in the showroom the sampled tiles for project x from general contractor xxx for house 11. The client chooses the color from series xy, is satisfied with the shown aluminum rails, goes home, happy about the great consultation. The nice consultant faxes or emails the selection list to the general contractor. The general contractor commissions the tiler. I remember that the prices per sqm of living space for a simple house at that time were given depending on the region between 900 euros and 1200 euros. That is a difference of 25%. If the margin for the general contractor is 15%, then it is his fault if he has costs of 1100 euros but sells for 900 euros. There should be merchants in the general contractor’s office who master this. Any master bricklayer can do that. Question: how is the client supposed to know this as a layman and why should the client bear the cost of miscalculation?

You are no longer allowed to say Mohrendatsch. That is a "Schaumkuss" (formerly Mohrenkopf or Negerkuss) in a bun. A must-have between math and sports during the big break.

This is the core problem. He simply has no idea and thinks he is just as smart as people who have trained or studied for it. And we experienced exactly the same nonsense when the master craftsman requirement was abolished in many professions.

I should have known, at least according to some members. Snow White should also have known that the apple was poisoned, and if the minced meat is on sale at the supermarket, you’re not supposed to buy it either; it might be from the day before yesterday:confused:.

: Margin is equal to selling price minus equity (or production costs) -> margin over 100% is therefore not possible. What you mean is mark-up.

Oh wait, in waste recycling, margins over 100% would theoretically be possible if you also get paid for sourcing your goods. But I believe that the reprocessing costs are too high.
