The fact is, building a house is the biggest financial project in life for most people. That’s why I do everything to find companies that are obviously capable professionally. I have conversations, ask around among acquaintances, look at projects, and so on and so forth. The fact that the price with GU1 was possibly already an indication that something might be wrong was said often enough. After you got out of that mess, I thought, okay now it won’t just be about the cheapest option. Nope. The slap in the face came shortly after when you wrote that the Bulgarian low-cost provider wins the race. Yay. Contract signed, Bulgarian happy. But the 40k upfront payment at least seemed fishy or rather Bulgarian to you. (OT Nothing against Bulgarians, but it just fits so well that in this case it couldn’t be the local craftsman who has been successfully doing his work for 20 years.) Contract with the Bulgarian was revoked and it goes to round 3. Then you write about some other GU. Apparently again no references, but what the heck... You’re smarter than your neighbor, who paid over the odds and twice for his doors, to the GU and the carpenter, door manufacturer or whatever you called it. Does your neighbor live in his finished house or is he still arguing like you with lawyers? I really shook my head when the statement was made that the current builder neither has employees nor any knowledge of construction management coordination etc. How can anyone expect that? I would have also chosen him as the first, sorry second or third. Expertise is highly valued here. At some point it was suggested here to turn on Vox or something. I suggest at most RTL2.
