The thing with the screed is really annoying. That the butcher didn’t know, okay, I didn’t either. But the screed was laid by a screed company that does nothing else, shouldn't they have pointed it out to us or asked about it? They also did the slope at the showers. The expert didn’t notice it at all either.

I completely agree with that. But as long as things went well (admittedly only briefly), I didn’t have to send such letters, I don’t do it for fun. But when you realize they’re burning through your money and building nothing but crap, the tone changes, at least for me. For both general contractors I had external construction consultants. For GU1, he took over all correspondence and was much harsher than I was. For GU2, BB2 made no attempts to do so, so I had to do it myself. GU2 was eager to do good work, but unfortunately lacked the capability.

Maybe. If the screed company had an execution plan showing different levels, then it’s their fault. Otherwise not. And it’s not a construction defect. So the expert isn’t at fault either. I don’t have it in my head, but whoever is commissioned is then responsible. So either GU1, GU2, or you.

This is now getting quite complicated again. GU2 selected the company and made the arrangements on-site with them, in which I was involved. There was no talk of different heights. Two days before the installation date, the screed company called me saying that no signed contract was available yet. I called GU2, who said he had not received an offer (but it had been there for months) and that he wouldn’t sign anything until I paid for the window sealing. The screed company said that the appointment would be canceled if a signature was not received by the next day. So I signed the offer, just as GU2 had ordered. That was a mistake, I know now.

Then you seem to be responsible for it. You commissioned it, you were present at the meeting. This time GU2 seems to be right.

I fear that this will now be interpreted that way. But I was actually just a silent listener, as I really have no idea about screed. However, I just spoke on the phone with the screed layer, it doesn’t seem to be that bad after all. I will now try to get parquet of the same thickness as the tiles, then it should work.
