Nonsense, all good. I'm just on vacation right now and then I lack the time at the computer. But since you’re asking, I don’t want to miss a comment: :D Your lawyer comes from industry and large projects. Construction supervision is elemental there. He has to approve things strictly, or not at all. Otherwise, the following trades might not be able to work and lawyer letters go out immediately if something is wrong or even just one day delayed. (I once was told that craftsmen get warned even if they are delayed through no fault of their own.) But on a private small construction site like you have, there is no construction supervision as your lawyer is used to. As a private person you also only commission a construction supervisor, a construction consultant, or similarly vague job titles. Occasionally someone comes by, looks a bit here and there where something can be seen right now, and points out visible defects they find. That’s it. It’s only supposed to give the builder a good feeling. If something is faulty, they still continue building, because the consultant has no authority over the general contractors or craftsmen in any way. They also don’t warn the craftsmen; that is your responsibility as the builder. At least that’s what many people commission. Which of the two options (construction supervision or construction consultant) did you commission? Also a crazy thing. For your collection, you still need a contaminant report if everyone is getting sick ;) At least sensible. Although here too the priority should clearly be on GU2, for the reasons stated.

Currently on ZDF Info [gutachter-system] somehow I have to think of your lawyer and his expert. Basically, it is about experts and their mistakes and exaggerated bills. Worth watching show.

And this house along with the property is indeed cursed. Now it’s my husband’s turn. Four weeks ago he wanted to saw off the top of a fir tree and fell from a height of 6 meters along with the tree top: 3rd and 4th cervical vertebrae broken, multiple bruises, contusions, and bleeding. Fortunately, no spinal cord injury. After 3 weeks in hospital, including several days in an induced coma with ventilation and 2 surgeries two weeks apart, he is now back home. Still weak on his feet, but without serious consequences, except for a vocal cord injury during the first surgery. A blessing in disguise. It could have ended differently. That sets other priorities. The house construction is going so-so. Yesterday would have been the completion date. More on that later.

If I didn’t believe you…
It’s like a bad movie. I believe you because we have experienced something similar. Different construction sites. But as they say, life writes the best stories. Not necessarily nice ones…

Some things/many things I don't even consider possible myself. But all of this is so stupid, who would bother to come up with something like this. Not me. Why should I? I've never been keen on expressions of pity. I'd rather have envy, that's something you have to fight for. But at the moment, there's no reason for it. But there's also no reason for pity, as I said, it could have been much worse. However, this accident made me realize what is truly important, and the family has grown even closer.
