You see, that’s exactly where the problem lies. We had clear ideas about our future house, but underestimated the specifics of the hillside property. But again, the construction engineer said it’s not a problem at all, even at those prices, which is why I always feel somewhat unfairly accused since we did seek advice! Now we are a bit wiser and know that we first have to look around and get much better advice about what is actually feasible on the property – also so that the budget doesn’t get completely out of control. I am also quite skilled with handiwork; when we built our previous bungalow we did almost everything ourselves from shell construction to interior finishing (except screed, electrical work, and installations). This time we would mostly have it completed professionally. However, I can do painting, flooring, and tiling myself – just for your information! As it was written, that’s how it was meant. If you need an all-inclusive package because you don’t have the time or desire to familiarize yourself with the topics, then you just have to sell the property and resort to a developer. A general contractor will demand far more decisions and knowledge from Franky than we are currently asking. If every sentence ends with a "...or?" then it won’t work.
