I think your statement
at the beginning fit when I jumped from A to C, but currently not at all!
We have now settled on a 1.5-story house that can be built according to the development plan, and this even has a captain's gable as 1.5 - point! That I then ask whether this would also work on the other side and it is said "nooo, then it is no longer a 1.5-story" is, according to your statement, once again "he doesn’t learn!". I currently see this completely differently because it was a perfectly normal question from a non-expert. Such a thing should be allowed to be asked here in the forum – even after the history.
We knew what we liked, why, what not, what would be nice depending on the design, which toad we would have to swallow for it.....
Every builder had wishes and ideas in advance and eventually had to bury them, and currently it is no different for us. But it is always forgotten here that we already went through this with our then construction engineer, otherwise, there would be no draft plan for the Letten house. I always wonder whether you stop reading at that point or just don’t want to understand!
The whole last paragraph, I totally miss that from you. You see something, think it’s great, want it, exactly like that...
No, I want to clarify in advance, if I/we like it, whether it would even be feasible. Once again, I am not an expert and don’t know much about many parameters, and that’s why I ask "people" who hopefully know about it and have experience. A single sentence like "it won’t work for you" would help, and then we wouldn’t have to consider it any further or worry about it. Doesn’t work, too bad, move on!
Wait a minute, someone then says, won’t work for you, hillside property, right. Only 1.5 stories, right. Oh, you say, what a pity, that would be my dream house!
Half a day later you come up with a completely different design, it’s so great, you want it, exactly like that, a DREAM HOUSE! How, the gable doesn’t work? Oh, what a pity!
Nobody can tell me that every one of you wanted to build a house, saw one, and that was it. You always have your options A, B, and C in mind when walking through the model house park. Everyone tries to get the optimum for themselves or do you all just settle for C right away? I keep fighting for A until it really doesn’t work. Maybe a mistake in my approach!
That’s why, my good advice before I grab the bag of chips again at this show: educate yourself, look around, crystallize what you want....
Look, and that’s exactly what I’ve been doing for some time; I can’t understand that statement!
[*]Check development plan to see what’s even possible – check
[*]Requirements for the property – check!
[*]Required living space – check!
[*]Desired house type – check!
[*]Details of the house exterior – currently working on it
[*]Individual rooms & equipment – next step
[*]etc...
I think there is already a clear thread to be seen. If something is missing from the sequence, I am happy to incorporate that. According to this thread, those were also your recommendations.
Right now, you get a suggestion from somewhere, whether it’s Kaho or a general contractor, and you’re delighted, great, super! Just like the next and the next and the next.
Every proposal, that’s why I signed up here, I check whether it would be an option for us. What is wrong with that again?
Have I already taken the pink door??? No, I won’t, but it was shown, albeit exaggerated, that such a thing is also possible. I simply call this gathering inspirations and weighing what makes sense and what doesn’t! Also regarding costs!
I see no line, no fundamental idea, simply nothing. At some point the general contractor will probably also despair.
I was with a general contractor again today as well as yesterday (just on the topic of being teachable). None of them interpret it like you, but rather it has been said repeatedly, you have already dealt extensively with the building project. Ok, maybe I should send them the link here!
Guys, I keep thinking with some comments here, nice that there are so many perfect people who made no mistakes before and during their construction phase, never changed their minds, and immediately knew what they wanted because they read magazines and in the end could be proud as punch of what cool guys they are.
I/we belong to the very normal people who are not construction experts, really very grateful for support and ideas that bring us closer to our goal of the new house! For this, once again my
thanks to everyone, even if some see this more as a soap opera!
