I wonder why you guys always end up with massive hallways? A secondary staircase cleverly placed can add an estimated 10-14 sqm of hallway space to the living area.

Interesting floor plan. I will redraw it and change what I think should be changed. Many thanks!

Who made the floor plan? Where you have the pull-out staircase, are you going to put a proper staircase there later or will it stay like that?

I quickly changed the floor plan a bit with the wishes we would have.
- larger children's rooms
- guest WC with shower
- minimally larger main bathroom
- office under the roof

You could provide a few wall measurements ... and then indicate the furnishing in the rooms, e.g. in the 62 sqm living room with the kitchen as far away from the terrace as possible.

The bedroom looks tight in depth, same with the hallway width ... and space for a wardrobe?

And, won’t the living/dining room be quite dark? The west sun certainly won’t reach there anymore – or?

Have you ever fitted the bungalow into the site plan? There shouldn’t be much passage left on the street side on the right and left. See as an example “my” angled bungalow in , which was actually planned almost the other way around.

But I also liked the rectangular bungalow from and quite a few plans by Katja. While skimming through it just now, your subwoofers and noise concerns also caught my attention again.

I'm currently wondering whether I would rather be a child in your family or the washing machine. Because as a washing machine, I would have a smaller room but also a sunnier southeast location.

The hatch is by the children's room doors. Later, when the kids have moved out (that will easily take another 18 years since the youngest just turned 1), one children's room will be opened up and the stairs placed there. The appealing thing about the bungalow is that the interior walls are not load-bearing and can be rearranged in various ways. As for your changes: The size of the children's rooms is really sufficient, surprisingly. You just have to be a bit creative with the furniture during their childhood, but thanks to Pinterest and the like, that's really easy. With my son, I rearrange the furniture from time to time depending on what and how he prefers to play at the moment. Later during the teenage years, they effectively just need a bed, wardrobe, and desk. They don't move around that much anymore. You can forget about the shower in the guest WC. You just can't fit it in there. So far, we wouldn't need it either. Even with guests, we've never been in a tight spot. You can leave the main bathroom size as it is. That's totally sufficient! I can gladly take a photo of it for you. I would reconsider the office under the roof. See if you can fit it downstairs. That way, you save yourself the stairs at first and a lot of wasted space caused by the staircase. If you close off our kitchen "niche," you get your office. Then remove the partition wall in the living room and you can decide whether the kitchen should be on the office wall or where we currently have the living room. Some people like to look out into the garden while cooking. There is definitely enough space for that in our floor plan. Currently, our "office" is on the backside of the partition wall towards the kitchen. You can hardly make the bedroom any smaller, otherwise, there won’t be any space left to walk past the bed. Unless you’re so creative that you build your bed right at the back yourself. By the way, you won’t get the stairs there. The space just doesn't fit unless you build a 20m wide bungalow. Edit: Oh, the floor plan was made by a construction company that was on our shortlist. We modified it a bit for ourselves.
