If you haven't just won the lottery, I would always first clarify what the financial maximum is. At least roughly. Otherwise, the home builder doesn't know what they can offer you.

The maximum is none of the provider's business, otherwise they are just working towards golden faucets* (* can also be replaced with "recessed spotlights" or similar).

I understand that, Katja, and no, "unfortunately" no lottery win! But since I come from the commercial field, I know that if the client has 400k available, it will also be spent. I personally think it’s better to first clarify your minimum and then decide, as zaba wrote, whether more money should be invested in certain things because it’s for life! I personally think that since everyone has completely different ideas of good equipment, prices therefore also vary extremely. Just saying!

... and in the neighboring thread someone wants to build a house with 220sqm (also on a slope) and 450k€ is ok there??? So a clear line from some here in cost calculation is not recognizable either!
