VW is the overpriced manufacturer par excellence. A small ID 3 already costs 40,000€ today. For a Golf equivalent with poor consumption. Better to get a Model Y for 47,000€ with high range thanks to super low consumption and lots of space. Tesla is the benchmark here. A Volkswagen has long ceased to be a car for the people when it comes to electric cars. Tesla is significantly cheaper when range, consumption, and space in the car are compared. An ID 4 without extras already costs more at the base price than a Tesla Model Y with the very extensive full equipment. If you add that to the ID 4, it is at least 15,000€ more expensive than a Model Y with much worse acceleration. Who buys something like that?

Simply on principle. Of course, when you look at it completely rationally, it’s nonsense, since you can hardly avoid buying stuff from China anyway. But with something as big as a car, everything in me rebels. You also show that off publicly, for me it feels different from discovering "made in China" on a kitchen towel somewhere.

And by what right do you take the presumptuous post? With photovoltaics, as a full feed-in participant with the current remuneration, I break even in the -best- case after 13.6 years (photovoltaic offer from 02/23)... If after the warranty an inverter dies even later... If I invest the money, I have no risk and still get returns? So tell me the reason why someone who wants/has to should borrow expensive money for this?

VW says from 32,000, Tesla from 47,000, minus 4,500 subsidy and probably another subsidy from Tesla. Whether you get the rest of the difference back through tax, inspection, and consumption savings? You have to calculate that specifically.

At the end of 2013 I paid €23k for my Octavia. Mid-level equipment, 1.6 diesel, trailer hitch, parking sensors, electric mirrors, automatic climate control. I almost fell off my chair at what is being asked for today. Sure, for €35k now a rearview camera is included even in the "base model" as well as seat heating and alloy wheels, which I would never buy. The "base engine" now has 160 hp. But that doesn't change the fact that a car for €40k is simply too expensive. If electromobility is to prevail, there must also be family-friendly cars for affordable money. And not with a worn-down battery. And before anyone comes with rental batteries... the battery for the ZOE would cost around €120 per month. For that I can fuel diesel for 1600 km.

Of course, the luxury segment comes first. This way, investment costs can be recouped. When production becomes cheaper, there are the small cars… Our economic location is expensive and overregulated. Therefore, it is also not comparable to Chinese production. There were times when VW made a loss on every Golf.
