That’s true! And the reasons have now been sufficiently stated, but it’s just not accepted to say that you don’t want to buy a house when you haven’t even paid off a loan yourself, not even in death. (By the way, I never denied that we could get a loan for a house purchase.)

Don’t get me wrong: I wrote that at the beginning too, I’m not blaming anyone here, I just didn’t expect to encounter such a lack of understanding, since ultimately everyone is affected by it

Well, after it has been explained to you 10 times that it should be easily possible with your income (note the subjunctive, who knows what cars you drive or vacations you take), the understanding is simply limited. It is neither unaffordable for you nor for your district. There are plenty of houses for 300-400k. Do the most important things before moving in or have them done, and the rest gradually. As a couple, you don’t necessarily need a whole house anyway; you can also fix up individual rooms while living there. Anyone who has been active in this forum for longer has solved the problem one way or another.

Because that is also a nonsense argument. Especially if you do not want children. What on earth does the loan interest you if you should pass away? Instead of rent, you pay a loan.... so what? The only difference is that you can live in completely different properties.

Buying is always cheaper than renting: e-scooter, car, house... no matter what. You just have to use it regularly (not move). You exchange the landlord's service (expensive) for self-service (cheap).

You may also compare the respective training and knowledge. In case it hasn’t been noticed yet: in Germany, people are not paid for their usefulness to society, but for how hard it is to replace them by other potential employees.

Hello,

That is not true. Unfortunately, pensioners really have an almost absolute security. Pensions will be the very last thing that this state will still pay, even if it is already bankrupt and has practically stopped all other tasks. Hell will freeze over before anyone in this country cuts pensions to a realistic level.

Best regards,

Andreas

Ultimately, that, job security, and private health insurance are also the only benefits left to the civil service...

In the private sector in comparable fields, one can earn SIGNIFICANTLY more money. Here with us, civil servants still "work hard" 41.5 hours – which is certainly no benefit either. Additionally, civil servants generally do not receive Christmas bonuses / holiday pay, and salary increases by agreement are also not possible. Unfortunately, home office is still absolutely not an option in many municipalities/cities.

The public service MUST be able to offer the aforementioned advantages, otherwise public service will receive fewer and fewer university graduates and especially the small municipalities will search in vain for personnel (which is already the case today)... Citizens only partially perceive this problem, but as a result, a lot of community life and development within the municipality breaks down, which is already truly catastrophic at present...

I believe non-public service employees today are not even aware what a pillar would collapse or is collapsing if the public service continues to be "degraded" further...
