The first half of 2022 are the most recent figures I know. It's at 6%. Sounds low, but there are hardly any power plants still online. Historically, it looks more like this:

Yes, of course away from the other. But not in rushed actions that threaten people's existence.
And not as long as there are no alternatives. Burning coal is certainly not an alternative.
It must go the other way around: first create alternatives, then move away from the old.
What is the point of banning the installation of gas heating systems if there aren’t enough heat pumps as an alternative, not to mention the solar technicians.
What is the point of banning or displacing individual traffic if there is no alternative in public transport?

Let’s state: Nuclear power has played a minor role in Germany for years and is a phase-out model. The alternatives already exist and are actively being expanded. Much more exciting are the savings potentials that have not yet been utilized: I’m just thinking of home office. For every day in the office, I currently need 50 kWh of energy with an internal combustion engine for commuting. With that energy, I can supply our apartment with electricity and heat for about 3 days. Who is forbidding you your individual transport?

Yes, the alternatives exist and are being expanded, but that is not enough. Regarding photovoltaics and heat pumps, we all know, especially here, that it does not work overnight.

On the topic of home office, I agree with you. An obligation for employers to enable it where possible would be appropriate.

Then just drive to Berlin: more and more bans, more and more restrictions. And all that without reasonable alternatives.

The share of gas power generation has increased in recent years (except 2022). Is it really that much more environmentally friendly? The world is more than an average, and electricity is especially difficult to store on a large scale. If you can produce double the demand today and only half tomorrow, that averages to 125% of the demand. Yet the lights will still go out tomorrow. And the situation won't get better if we continue to steadily increase consumption through the electrification of heating, mobility, and industry. In the last 30 years, Germany has roughly had the same order of magnitude of electricity consumption. At the latest with an electrified industry, this will change.

As an interested Bavarian: what exactly is being banned and restricted in Berlin?
