As a rule, solar tiles are simply connected in series or at most divided into 2-3 strings or power optimizers are used. But solar tiles are actually not a solution for tomorrow; apart from the sleek appearance, there are only disadvantages.

You are right, if you prepare something, you might as well go three sizes bigger; but if, as in the case of the original poster, it leads to a large front wall, then you can also look at what you really need.

Tesla is also planning solar tiles. We found them quite stylish. However, they are not available yet. What are the disadvantages?

Well, you should be cautious with Tesla. But since you don't know the costs or when they will come to Germany... The disadvantages are that it is significantly more expensive with lower yield. Otherwise, small issues like difficult maintenance, no additional protection for the roof (fire, damage, etc.) It obviously depends on what motivates someone to get a photovoltaic system. My motivation was return, doing something for environmental protection, the fun of using my own electricity, and not disfiguring the house. An integrated system already ruled out the return.

Tesla is not producing yet.
Lower yield is an oversimplification. It means yield per sqm. For the economically minded person, it’s an optimization of self-sufficiency and not a maximization of yield. On many roofs, you can use more area with smaller tiles – and the system’s yield fits.
What maintenance? If a part is defective: tile out, tile in. Extra effort: 2 plug connections. Cost depending on tile €15-25.
In case of fire, a solar tile system that stays under 120V is extinguished. A photovoltaic system with 400V and more prompts firefighters to let the house burn down in a controlled way.
The statement about “only disadvantages” is not true.
It is more expensive, according to recent findings even significantly more than 10% (greetings to Lumpi). That is a disadvantage.

So no hole is planned in the ground floor ceiling, if anything it would probably have to be done with a core drill or maybe it will actually be routed in the wall. So I could still actively decide for or against it. Now that the pipe is in a rather unfavorable location, I tend to omit it – the chance that I will install photovoltaics at some point I see as rather low. If the conduit had been somewhere inconspicuous, it would look completely different.

The plumber told me that water supply and drain will also be installed in the drywall partition. It probably won’t be a 90 or 100 mm pipe for the drain, a smaller one is sufficient. You can easily fit two 40 mm pipes into the drywall partition with 75 mm studs, right?
