I never said that as a teacher you don't have to be able to do anything special, but that you (for example) as a PhD graduate can only get into the position because of knowledge valuable to financially strong companies in order to even advance into these salary regions, and many are far below that. Focus comprehensive school. Everything from grade 5 up to the Abitur. I chose it that way, I also knew the school. In my opinion, it is wrong that you need long essays to list the reasons for the shortage of teachers. Salary is not one of these reasons. It is high enough.

That also contradicts half of my experiences. Especially with new hires, specialized knowledge was less valuable than proof of soft skills and conveying the impression that you can quickly familiarize yourself with everything (which is usually true). The title was especially important at certain points to be able to say: "Dr. so-and-so is taking care of it...". That was important for external presentation.

It is of course true that positions are at least tendentially filled with people with professional qualifications.

One reason is that very few teachers stay healthy until retirement/pension. I have very rarely met the cheerful 65-year-old in front of the class, most teachers are exhausted beforehand and just drag themselves to work.

Just chatted yesterday with my girlfriend (teacher). Diagnosed with burnout and sick with pneumonia at 45 years old. That says a lot in my opinion.
