Correct. The trick is not to jump at every little thing the other side throws at you and to present the facts to the judge really briefly and precisely. A good lawyer manages this balancing act.

Oh yes, some comments here in the forum simply have to be ignored. For a long time, there was just no strategy to be seen and then possible consultations and solutions went in all directions. There was a lot over time here: demanding money back, continuing construction, getting them for fraud, etc. So... forget all that nonsense here, but maybe one or the other comment did help in conversations with the lawyer.

I am really glad you had a good lawyer who fixed it.

Oh yes: Where did you get your new site manager?

I unfortunately have to contradict you, the lawyer had perseverance and calmness itself, following the principle: Everything will be fine. But when the registration with the 2nd company came, he said now everything was lost (except of course his fees). I was so angry that I wanted to change the lawyer, which would have become a financial fiasco because the other one would have had to be paid again in full. But I informed myself and found out that we were legally entitled to a performance bond. I then told my lawyer this and he wrote a letter to the court.

We were recommended the site manager by the expert we had appointed.

But that one is also nice. That really helps when you're already feeling shitty,

Hey Hausbau2019, I didn’t comment in your thread, but I definitely read it. Of course, you are right. There were various comments that were not really okay or compassionate. Every, really every forum on the internet has members who are very direct and undiplomatic. But you should ignore that. There were also quite a few members who encouraged you and tried to give advice. Your "mistake," if you want to call it that, was seeking comfort here in the forum. You won’t get that here. In my opinion, your posts were written out of pure emotion. I could practically "hear" you screaming, and your anger was readable in every line. Ultimately, you were partly dealing here with very level-headed people who immediately lose all understanding and sympathy whenever someone does something foolish/risky/or similar. But not everyone in the forum is like that. In the end, the comments were also reactions to your anger and disbelief from time to time! In summary: It’s great that things are moving forward for you. Respect for your perseverance! Don’t generalize, but sometimes it’s good for one or the other forum member to be shown a mirror ;)

Congratulations that it all turned out more or less well in the end.

Tell me... What would you do differently from today’s perspective?
You have now had to gain quite a bit of experience. Some people could learn their lessons from that.

Best regards
