I also hope that you get out of it fairly well - what a shitty story.

What is the current status? What has happened on the construction site?

No more work on the construction site since the end of Nov. The scaffolding has been taken down again. The contractor has terminated the contract and we have applied for the enforcement of the settlement at the court.

Oh wow. Then good luck with that!

There’s nothing standing in the way of directly commissioning a roofer, right? The main thing is that you get the shell weathertight from above!

Now we first have to wait for the court's decision; nothing can happen before that, and that will probably be no earlier than mid/end of January. The additional costs including defect rectification are now estimated at around €140,000 and the BU would have to pay that if the court rules in our favor. I do not expect that he will pay/can pay that and will instead file for insolvency and then merrily continue with his second company.
