and slowly we might also be able to guess the second page of the story ;-)

I’m still keeping my fingers crossed for you that you finish the construction quickly.

Well, but for craftsmen who don't work and just stand around, I wouldn't want to pay either.

Honestly, I somewhat lack the understanding of how, given your already gathered experience, a contract for an estimated 440 hours of project management can be awarded. The learning curve should be a bit steeper. Unfortunately, also due to your appearance here in the forum, I have a concern about where the collaboration with this client will develop. I hope, especially for you, but also for all other parties involved, that my concerns do not come true.

To summarize again what was accomplished in 2 days with 5 workers each and in another 2 days with 4 workers: The basement plinth above was coated with slurry, 10 windows were covered with foil, and scaffolding was set up. The foil on the windows was torn by the storm, the bricks placed on the foil for weighting fell through the shredded foil onto the light shafts below and partly damaged them (plastic cracked), and the top part of the scaffolding was apparently not properly secured and was also blown by the storm into the roof tarp, leaving a hole there. A locked construction door was installed, the key to which no one knows where it is, so we have to climb into the house via the scaffolding. He also wants to dismantle the scaffolding again because, contrary to the agreement, he does not want to leave it for third-party use, although it was previously said that it would remain until the end of the entire construction period. So now please tell me what I’m supposed to pay €4,600 for a 1st interim invoice (3 days).

If my behavior here in the forum means that I have a hard time being taken for a fool, then you are probably right and your fears will accordingly come true.

In that regard, my shell builder was really exemplary, generally, I can call him now and he always tries to give me an answer.

Breaks should be paid? Ridiculous.

I still can't remember when I brought food and drinks to his employees, he told me:

*Drinks are okay, but please eat after work, otherwise it sometimes drags on.*

I have to add that he got along with his employees and there was a pleasant working atmosphere.

To the Te, you are just having bad luck, hope for an end!!
