Well, a decision will probably be made next week and currently there are several candidates to choose from. But many thanks also for your support. Except for this ray of hope, total frustration has settled in with us. I had commissioned a company with the defect repair, with which I have been in contact for a year because the managing director himself was harmed by our ex-business unit manager and I really believed he would help us. He gave me an offer based on hourly billing and said that he had calculated generously and it would be significantly less (440 working hours and €10,000 material - invoicing based on delivery note). Yes, it already sounded like a lot, but I stupid cow believed in the good again. The scaffolding was also included. Anyway, last week the invoice arrived for 3 working days = €4,605! without materials. Incredible! The attached construction daily reports showed working hours from 7:30/8:00 am to 3:00 pm for 5 employees. But before 10:00 am, no one was on the construction site and after 2:00 pm neither, and on one day they even only arrived at 11:00 am. The times were said to include travel, departure and scaffolding loading time and "biting into the cuts" was explained to me. For 3 hours on the construction site, I am supposed to pay for 7 hours of work for 5 employees???? At an hourly rate of €53.55!!!! Are you serious??? I brought the guys coffee, which I quickly stopped doing again because this coffee break costs me about €50. In 4 days they managed just to set up the scaffolding, cover the windows with foil and paint the basement plinth. Oh, I almost forgot. We still have one construction door now. However, it was installed locked and no one knows where the key is. Cool, right......? We now can only get into our house by having someone climb on the scaffolding, through the window on the upper floor, ladder down again, remove the grid of the terrace door, which is secured from the inside, and then let the others in. Can I finally wake up from this crappy nightmare!
