If I knew that! He knew the costs that were coming his way. If he couldn't pay them, he shouldn't have agreed to the settlement. Then there would have been a court case a week later. No idea how that would have turned out. Until the end, he was of the opinion that we should cancel the contract. As I heard from another source, he also fell out with the broker of his construction orders, whose company he actually wanted to take over. That's the one from whom we actually bought the house.

You can believe me, we did not skimp on the lawyer. The gentleman earned €13,000 from this matter.

If I were a sub and had to fear that the client, the GU, would go bankrupt, I wouldn't lift a finger. VK doesn't help either. There is enough work. No one has to play Russian roulette.

Sensible lawyer
Withhold what is possible
Pressure, nothing else helps

The Serbian-Croatian and whatever mixed raw construction crew, which probably doesn't even have a license for masonry and concrete work and only the boss speaks German, is definitely dependent on orders from him. And the carpentry can't use our roof frame anywhere else anyway. But from now on it will be critical, and apparently word has already gotten around if he doesn't get a roofer. If I withhold the entire amount now (which would be legally completely okay based on the expert report), the red one will see.

If he is really that dead, every insolvency administrator will reclaim the money paid to the craftsmen for services rendered and materials. The carpentry also does not work for free in the event of insolvency. Take a lawyer and withhold what is legally and according to the settlement possible. You pay, another builder does not, the [GU] goes to the district court and then?

I have to ask now: What happens if the [GU] goes to the district court?
