From the sponsor, to the designated client, to the construction manager. Now that’s what I call a career.

At the very least, you should stop going around telling everyone how much budget you/you all still have. Only my architect and my construction coordinator (both trusted people) knew my budget, and it was already clear before construction started that neither of them wanted to waste my money. Not even my wife knows how expensive the house construction was, so she doesn't spread it everywhere. It simply doesn't concern anyone.

It's like in consulting, they just blindly invoice because the client still has budget left.

That sounds like a trusting relationship (-:
