Why does he sign the settlement first and now stop the work?

Has pulled the coal out of the company and is now going bankrupt ...

You have to ask him that. There is no logic to be seen in that man. He justifies it by saying that we did not pay the invoice [Dachrichten], which he issued on the day the work started. My construction manager rejected it, with the reason: wrong date, wrong payment terms, work not completed, as well as unfinished masonry on the upper floor and serious defects. Subsequently, the payment request with an expired deadline and the termination came by registered mail at the same time, but before that he had already had the scaffolding dismantled.

Very unpleasant matter. A suggestion, even if it might be dismissed as nonsensical: I myself do not watch such shows on television because otherwise I would be even more afraid of building a house, but would you like to research if there is a TV format that could take on your problem? As I have heard, deceived home builders sometimes receive support in various forms. The obvious downside is that your own story will be made public and the show producers will try to make everything even more dramatic than it already is.

Can it get any more dramatic? But aside from that, I have already tried, without success. And even if, if he can prove that he has no more money to pay the balance, it goes nowhere. We still have the retention for the roof structure and the completion bond, all together about €60,000. The only question is how the court or, in the event of insolvency, the insolvency administrator sees this and whether we might still have to pay for the roof structure. What annoys me even more is that we now have to pay another €3,000 for an additional expert report on the current construction status from the expert (officially certified and sworn) who already cost €2,500 for the report before the settlement. He has an hourly rate of €148 and charges this rate for every phone call and email. That’s madness! It makes me sick, and I refuse to commission him again.

You often see on TV that construction companies don’t finish their projects, go bankrupt, and then start a new company. It’s really bad that this is just allowed.
