In order for the door to open fully, it must protrude 2.5 cm at the top so that it does not hit the base of the device at the bottom beforehand (there may still be some tolerance, but no one has measured it so far). The minimum height of the device is 86.5 cm. With the 2.5 cm protrusion, it becomes 89 cm (tolerances are also conceivable here, but unknown). With an 8 cm base, Metod has a niche height of 88 cm, so 1 cm is missing. This inevitably results in the necessary minimum base height of 9 cm. As already mentioned, by using all tolerances, it may be less than 9 cm, but only maybe.

Thank you very much,
there would also be the possibility to notch out the base, right?
(just to keep this possibility in mind)

We are getting a new Ikea kitchen, and after having read beforehand that IKEA dishwashers did not perform very well in tests, we decided not to buy an IKEA appliance.

Unaware that since the switch to METOD, which is also IKEA Methode, you are almost forced to buy an appliance from there if you want it fully integrated and thus completely hidden and inconspicuous, covered with the same front (and almost everyone wants that).

After making numerous visits to our two local IKEA kitchen departments, always hoping to find an employee who could explain everything a bit more simply and also understand our wishes, as well as unsuccessfully visiting various kitchen studios, we are now despairing over the attachment of the front using the "sliding hinge" as it was called in one IKEA store, or the attachment using the "glide hinge" as called in another IKEA store. Before METOD, it was apparently possible to buy this hinge as a normal part, but unfortunately not anymore!

We have now actually found a way through detours to get the IKEA glide hinge Behjälplig (or something like that), but the question remains whether we can use it with a standard non-IKEA appliance or if it has to be an XXL dishwasher.

There are so many comments saying that it also works without an IKEA dishwasher, but unfortunately, due to the many pieces of information, I am totally overwhelmed.

We want a fully integratable appliance with 60 cm width, with a cutlery drawer (preferably a variable one) as well as an adjustable middle dish rack, with good energy efficiency, good drying performance, and if possible under € 500 (the kitchen itself has already become more expensive than we hoped), and preferably of course with a good test rating. Do you have any recommendations for me?

I look forward to your help and answers.

And then it occurs to me that you should pay attention to whether the inner bottom of the machine is made of metal, or is it better if it is made of plastic. That’s what happens when you search through too many tests and forums—you just end up confused.

Thank you in advance and have a good start to the week!

To be honest, I find the whole criticism of the electrical appliances hardly understandable. Among other things, I have had a dishwasher for almost 15 years (bought in the bargain basement), from a time when the appliances were allegedly "worse," and I have never had a single problem until today...

IKEA certainly does not want to "force" its customers to buy their own appliances, but there are x different systems and possibilities for attaching fronts, partly even varying from device to device within one supplier, so it is simply not possible to offer fronts compatible with all appliances. The fact that you got the pull hinge is nice. Whether you can attach that thing based on the technology of your alternative appliance is another question...

You can also buy a 60x60 door and a 60x20 front in the corresponding decor, connect them with a "joint" which can also be purchased at IKEA. Then the lower, narrow front folds open when you open the dishwasher. This also works with third-party appliances; outwardly, you just have the appearance of a split front.

Hello

You can choose dishwashers of various brands that can be installed in the Ikea Metod kitchen.
For this, the box "Dishwasher is suitable for Ikea Metod kitchens" at the bottom left must be checked.
Best regards
