We are getting a new Ikea kitchen, and after having read beforehand that IKEA dishwashers did not perform very well in tests, we decided not to buy an IKEA appliance.
Unaware that since the switch to METOD, which is also IKEA Methode, you are almost forced to buy an appliance from there if you want it fully integrated and thus completely hidden and inconspicuous, covered with the same front (and almost everyone wants that).
After making numerous visits to our two local IKEA kitchen departments, always hoping to find an employee who could explain everything a bit more simply and also understand our wishes, as well as unsuccessfully visiting various kitchen studios, we are now despairing over the attachment of the front using the "sliding hinge" as it was called in one IKEA store, or the attachment using the "glide hinge" as called in another IKEA store. Before METOD, it was apparently possible to buy this hinge as a normal part, but unfortunately not anymore!
We have now actually found a way through detours to get the IKEA glide hinge Behjälplig (or something like that), but the question remains whether we can use it with a standard non-IKEA appliance or if it has to be an XXL dishwasher.
There are so many comments saying that it also works without an IKEA dishwasher, but unfortunately, due to the many pieces of information, I am totally overwhelmed.
We want a fully integratable appliance with 60 cm width, with a cutlery drawer (preferably a variable one) as well as an adjustable middle dish rack, with good energy efficiency, good drying performance, and if possible under € 500 (the kitchen itself has already become more expensive than we hoped), and preferably of course with a good test rating. Do you have any recommendations for me?
I look forward to your help and answers.
And then it occurs to me that you should pay attention to whether the inner bottom of the machine is made of metal, or is it better if it is made of plastic. That’s what happens when you search through too many tests and forums—you just end up confused.
Thank you in advance and have a good start to the week!
