If I buy a built-in dishwasher without a Vario hinge, for example one that specifies a front dimension of 650 - 750 mm, and I buy a front whose height is within this range, then it fits the dishwasher but may not fit the cabinets. For the XXL devices from Siemens, Bosch without Vario hinges, fronts with a maximum height of 775 mm fit. If the front is higher, it hits the plinth and the door can no longer be opened. The Vario hinge ensures that a front is pushed upward when the door is opened. Therefore, the front on an XXL device with a Vario hinge integrated into the door can be up to 800 mm high.

In this situation, I would lower the dishwasher and work with a panel above it.

Or move the dishwasher somewhere else entirely, into the tall cabinet? I don't know the plan, but the current setup is very suboptimal at first. You can't open the trash can and the dishwasher at the same time. Although even in the tall cabinet, you can't avoid some tinkering.

The retrofit took place on 07.01.2016. The carpenters said that this was not possible at all, since the front would still hit at the bottom. After I managed to convince the carpenter, he tried it and lo and behold... it worked! Thank you very much for this great tip!! Lowering the dishwasher and attaching the front with about 5cm overhang (with a dishwasher with Vario hinge and max. front up to 750mm) worked perfectly

we will only get a new Ikea Metod kitchen in autumn, but we already have to buy a new dishwasher now. Or I will have to wash dishes by hand until then. Our Miele has been defective after more than 20 years, a repair is no longer worthwhile.

I have now read quite a bit on the subject and hope I understood everything correctly. A fully integrated dishwasher needs a Varioscharnier, a height of 865 mm (XXL device) and a door height up to 800 mm for the front?

After long research, I found the model S72P69X0EU from Neff, which has all the features. However, before we order the device, I wanted to check here once more whether installation is really trouble-free.

I have to honestly admit, the price differences are so enormous that it no longer has to be a Miele. However, the Miele that would still be an option price-wise is too loud for us since our kitchen is open.

However, a completely different question arises: does a fully integrated dishwasher even fit in our current kitchen? And how do we handle the front until we buy the Ikea kitchen? The Miele dishwasher is only semi-integrated. My husband has to measure everything tomorrow. Whether it even works like this now.
