Dishwasher fronts

The Metod fronts fit directly on the xxl dishwashers if they are properly installed: Normally, these dishwashers only accommodate fronts up to 775mm, the 800 from Ikea hits the base of the dishwasher when opening. Normally means the dishwasher is installed so that it touches the countertop (or other shelf) at the top. Now new and unusual: lower the dishwasher to the floor, if necessary remove the rear foot extension, and completely close the upper 3cm gap with shelves. The too-long 25-30mm of the front now sit at the top, this must be considered when mounting the handle. Stefan

I don't understand what you all are writing here. @ Stefan why does something need to be filled with floors for XXL machines? There is also no need to remove any foot extensions. Look at the picture in my gallery, everything can be done with fronts. Regards

Stefan describes a way to install fully integrated XXL dishwashers with a maximum front height of 775 mm without Behjälplig. The last post by the section head refers to semi-integrated devices.

I am Dutch and I have searched here and on the English Ikea fans forum for information in the past months and yesterday I installed Ikea Metod with a Bosch dishwasher. It is an XXL-Maxiline model. I have uploaded 3 photos in my album for everyone.

@ Aronito You could also have lowered the dishwasher all the way (ALL THE WAY!) down, possibly removing a rear foot extension beforehand. Then you can mount the front directly onto the door, without this strange RESONLIG or something similar. To prevent it from tipping when opening, only the gap at the TOP needs to be closed. Siemens offers suitable brackets for €90, but 2 old shelves, slats, tile scraps, ... also work. Stefan

I hardly believe that will work. Because the distance from the bottom edge of the door to the floor is much greater than the distance from the bottom edge of the door to the dishwasher when you open it. The attached front then hits the machine, and you can’t open the door. Take a look at the third picture from Aronito to see how high the front has to be pushed up.
