New kitchen - dishwasher from Ikea or another manufacturer?

The "problem" is the price/performance ratio. The Ikea dishwasher costs €449, is no-name, and can't do much. For that money, you get upper mid-range from Siemens and Co. And this runs through the entire appliance range of Ikea.

We have the Ikea Rengöra in the tea kitchen. It cleans quite well, no question. It has been in use for about two years, sometimes running daily, sometimes only twice a week. So far, there have been no malfunctions. In the rented apartment, we also installed a Rengöra about a year ago; there was a problem with an error message in the spring. So we went over and took a look – well, it had washed a granite board and one of the glued rubber stoppers on the underside of the board had blocked the pump. Once that was removed, the dishwasher ran perfectly again. Therefore, I can say nothing bad about the Ikea dishwashers.

And now the big but: A few months ago, the old Siemens dishwasher in our regular kitchen broke down. We thought about it for a long time but ultimately decided on a Siemens because of the good features, not an Ikea. Also because in the main kitchen, more difficult dish stains are to be expected, such as greasy pots, oily dressing-mix glasses, burnt casserole dishes... the Ikea Rengöra sometimes has problems with these, but the Siemens does not. After several months of use, I am still very satisfied with the Siemens dishwasher.

It depends on whether you even need all these Xtra programs. I think our Skinande, it is mostly operated by me, since at home it is always set to Auto. And then it gets clean. Karsten

I have no experience with Ikea appliances, but with Siemens appliances. After our cheap generic 08/15 Beko appliances slowly gave up after 9 years, we replaced them with Siemens appliances.

The worst was the oven. After a few months, the fan started making strange noises. The technician looked inside and could hardly believe his eyes. The fan was not installed, but just placed on top. On top of that, the fan could not be installed because it was the wrong fan model. After 1.5 years, the touch panel of the induction cooktop has now given out. According to the technician, a standard problem.

My wife would have liked to return the dishwasher right away. The Beko dishwasher cleaned better, was faster (now you just wait 3 hours until the dishes are dry), was easier to load, and did not get dirty as quickly. Advantage of the Siemens dishwasher: lower consumption and quieter.

So much for German quality workmanship.

The budget models from BoschSiemens come from Portugal. Originally, they are called Amica. Then Siemens or Bosch label is added, and suddenly it becomes 50-70 more expensive.

In general, we did not buy something very simple, but in the good mid-range. I should take a look this evening to see where they came from.

In general, I agree with you that only a fraction of the functions the devices offer are actually used.
