First Ikea kitchen... Now with backsplash (p. 7)

For practical reasons, I will now use a simple dishwasher front, not a split one.

Specifically, the fronts would now look like this.

1. Tall cabinet oven 2 x 40 cm drawer
2. Sink cabinet also 2 x 40 cm drawer
3. Dishwasher with 80 cm front
4. Cooktop with 40 cm and 2 x 20 cm fronts
5. Base cabinet with 40 cm and 2 x 20 cm fronts
6. Corner cabinet with 80 cm front

This way, the 80 cm fronts would frame the base cabinets with 3 fronts. I think visually this looks best.

The kitchen will be ordered this month. I have a few more questions.

The baseboard is exactly 8cm high; according to various videos, you should install the wall rail at exactly 82cm from the bottom edge or so because of the wall rail. Before that, you should also measure if the floor is level, so that an 8cm baseboard can be ensured everywhere.

Would you measure and build exactly or rather leave, for example, 8.5cm space, since otherwise, the baseboard would have to be shortened.

If you use the wall rail, the carcasses are only placed on the feet at the front; can you still mount feet at the back for better stability?

Do I understand correctly that Ikea does not have wall connection strips but simply uses normal end panels that you have to or can saw individually and then probably just attach with an angle bracket to, for example, a tall cabinet?

I would actually first determine the highest point of the floor. In my kitchen, the height varies by up to 3 cm.

You can also use four feet (I would do that too), just keep in mind that with the low plinth height, you can practically not adjust the feet from the front.

Do you mean the wall connection between the carcass and the wall? The side panels are sized so that with an ideally straight wall, they have exactly the right width. When they rest against the wall at the back, they align flush with the fronts at the front. The side panels are attached with screws from the inside of the carcass.
If you do not use side panels, the gap between the wall and the carcass can be closed with the "Metod Deckleiste senkrecht".

Exactly, on the right the kitchen starts with a tall cabinet. This should be flush with the right wall using a filler strip. This filler strip is not really available at Ikea as such. Here, I believe you just take side panels and saw them lengthwise, right.

With Faktum you could also use the inexpensive plinth panels for fitting pieces, with METOD only side panels are possible.

Yesterday it was finally time, we were at Ikea and ordered the kitchen. We were very lucky to get a really competent advisor. He accommodated all extra requests such as a higher number of legs, etc.! We were also praised for our good planning.

The delivery date is 06.06.2015, exactly one day after the move. The price is phenomenal at €2138. Because of this and the great prices on the internet for the electrical appliances, we now pay a total of just under €6500. For that amount, I wouldn’t have been able to get even the carcasses in any kitchen studio.
