Dishwasher fronts

The Varioscharnier and Behjälplig do exactly the same thing: Both are devices that cause the front to slide upwards when opening the dishwasher door.

Now I’m uncertain again. Does it look just as crappy with the Varioscharnier as it does here?



Does the front also stick out like that at the top when it’s open and all the dirt flies/runs between the front and the door?

I would love to see a photo of an open XXL dishwasher door with Varioscharnier and a continuous Metod front – like the linked picture, but with Varioscharnier (and continuous front).

Or is the problem in the above picture caused by the split front?

No, it doesn't look that bad. You can see it a little here. The overhang of the front with the door fully open is only a few centimeters long (estimated about 2-3 cm), so significantly less than with Behjälplig.

But in the end, they don’t open the door fully.

PS: I will gladly take a photo for others, but my kitchen will only be installed in the last third of May.

Juliette, is the dishwasher in the photo an XXL model or not? If not, it would mean that the front overhang on an XXL model will be slightly shorter.

According to Aronito, in whose gallery the picture is: "I installed Ikea Metod yesterday with a Bosch dishwasher. It is an XXL-Maxiline model."

With BEHJÄLPLIG, the door is attached at the bottom of the corpus and no longer swings under the machine, unlike with the Varioscharnier. Therefore, with BEHJÄLPLIG, the front slides up much further. When split fronts are connected to each other from the back, the front cannot lie as close to the door as with a continuous front. This results in a correspondingly wider dirt gap. This could be avoided by connecting the fronts at the end faces with pins or by milling grooves on the back in the thickness of the Vebindungsbeschlag.
