You can omit the mounting rails with Metod and place the cabinets directly against the wall. This also significantly reduces the cabinet depth. If Bejälplig is no longer available, you could still use Ersättare. Although this is intended for semi-integrated dishwashers, it should work just as well for fully integrated dishwashers. You have to keep in mind that Metod now "requires" 1.5cm deeper countertops and the countertops at our Bauhaus (which opened relatively recently, so I think it has a fairly new range) only have cheap countertops that are 61cm deep.

You definitely have to consider that with METOD. Now I also remembered that back then the countertops were only 61 cm deep and I screwed on 1 cm thick wooden strips at the back, which are covered by the wall panel (also from Bauhaus). I am pretty sure I saw some with 62 cm about a year later and thought they should have had those earlier. But that was probably just a temporary thing.

I still have Faktum cabinets and, by clever positioning, 10 years ago we were able to cover the Ärlig fronts (16mm deep) with a standard 60cm countertop from the hardware store. After changing the fronts, Norje (19mm deep) unfortunately now protrudes. At our hardware stores, I can unfortunately only still find 60cm countertops. Other depths are only available by order, and in that case IKEA is probably cheaper for me. If I use laminate (the ideas with stone and acrylic are no longer current), I can take a standard countertop and a Personlig that have the same design; at the hardware store, both would have to be ordered.

Perhaps as a general suggestion: friends of ours (hobby cooks with a son in culinary training) recently got a countertop with a 5cm overhang and are super enthusiastic because hardly anything splashes onto the fronts anymore. At the moment, countertops with only a slight overhang are modern not only at Ikea; you can also order a deeper size at Ikea.

Since we are not hobby cooks, just a 3-kids-standard basic supply, Metod on Faktum is sufficient for me.

I also heard/read that Bauhaus had 62 cm panels... well, part of my panel will be 70 cm anyway (though assembled, because for the foreseeable future) and on the other piece there is just a cabinet and the plan is to leave out the trim to hopefully save another cm. I’m also not using deep fronts – it will work out

Miss-Marple, yes I think acquaintances solved it similarly in their kitchen. For me, one cm is simply enough.

Oh, one more thing I noticed: It’s the attachment at the bottom of the front. It’s not identical to Behjälplig, and couldn’t the front then be placed on 2 drawer slides that are connected to the dishwasher door? The plastic parts that hook into the door of the IKEA dishwashers don’t really do anything different, do they?

Then there are also Ersättare. Such a fastening is apparently already available from other suppliers. It is not particularly aesthetically pleasing for Metod, since the front is longer than the adjacent ones. We are talking about approx. 13cm control panel, a 10cm drawer front, a 40cm or two 20cm fronts, and a 20cm panel at the bottom, which together make 83cm next to 80cm high carcasses.

Nayla, I don't quite understand that. You only need to shorten the 10cm front under the control panel by 3cm, then the whole thing looks uniform again, right??? The only unattractive thing remaining is that you always need a 20cm front at the bottom to open. If Behjälplig is actually completely discontinued and no replacement comes, then Ersättare is the only solution for non-Ikea dishwashers and could be used for both partially integrated and fully integrated devices.
