Then with our 192 sqm and around 28k we are significantly lower. I think I will raise that as well.

Completion must take place within 6 months after receiving the funding decision. One can also apply informally for an extension of another 12 months (but this must definitely be done). I think with 1.5 years one can manage.

However, this statement from BAfA makes me suspicious:

„[...]The planned measures must be implemented at one's own financial risk within 6 months. This means that the registration must have taken place in 2020. The work can still be carried out until 30.06.21. The proof of use must also be submitted by 30.06.21 at the latest. [...]“

Does this mean that the usual extension beyond the 6 months is no longer possible?

I think you misunderstood something here. The system only has to be put into operation within the approval period. The approval period basically covers 12 months from the announcement of the funding notice but can be extended by another 12 months upon request.

The proof of use must then be uploaded within 6 months after the end of the approval period (including the other necessary documents).

May I ask where you found that on the website? That would indeed contradict the plans that one can still submit an application now if one builds sometime in 2021.

The following sentence also explicitly states the exclusion: "A new registration is no longer possible from 01.01.21, and usage proofs can no longer be submitted from 01.07.21." Google BAFA and heating optimization... in the yellow box. That would of course be stupid again.

But that is a different program, which covers systems in existing residential buildings and not new construction. The program discussed here concerns "heating with renewable energies".

I also had something like that in mind. I was already wondering about the 6 months. So apparently you actually have 12 or even 24 months for the implementation. Oh, right. I slipped into the wrong program there. Lucky me...

It happens, after all, there’s a lot of money involved, so it’s understandable to get a bit nervous.

Of course, it cannot be ruled out that BAFA would like to handle it this way for all programs, but that would only be speculation and lead to nothing constructive.
