Hello,
thank you for the description.
The technician's argument does not convince me at all. The automatic program operates in the range of 45° - 70°. If it worked properly, it would only have to work at 70° if your dishes were too heavily soiled to get clean at lower temperatures.
- The Multitab program ensures that 3-in-1 dishwasher tablets are optimally used and the different components are released at the right time, it says in the description from Ikea. That also does not seem to be working properly.
How did the technician check your assumption that water is constantly being drawn? How many liters does the machine consume in one wash cycle?
The device does not properly fulfill its function. Whether this is because it was designed to be too energy-saving is not your problem but that of the manufacturer. I would demand in writing from IKEA a repair or, if necessary, a return of the machine within the framework of the statutory warranty claim that exists against the dealer.
A car that can only drive properly in one gear is also not okay, even if a technician determines that there is no fault.

I was curious after all to see how the values for power consumption differ with my 10-year-old Bosch.

ENASTAENDE Bosch SGI57M12
Intensive 70° 1.5 - 1.6 1.6
Auto 0.9 - 1.7 1.15 - 1.5 (Ena 45°-70°, SGI57 55°/65°)
ECO 50° 0.9 - 1.0 1.05
Glasses etc 0.8 - 0.9 0.8 (Ena 45°, SGI57 40°)

It somehow can’t be that the cleaning performance deteriorates by 95% for practically no further energy savings. Or AEG has never been able to build functioning dishwashers.

If you want to save energy, why do you let the machine decide
- how much water, it says on the label
- at what temperature, it says on the label
- in what time, and that is not on the label ops:

the dishes are washed
All information on the label refers to the standard program, usually 50°C, with the disadvantage that the machines take 22X minutes per wash cycle.

My "dinosaur" takes 85 minutes, good electricity and water consumption, I have not measured ...

By the way, somewhere the University of Bonn once had all the energy efficiency classes, including the "standard soils" and standard dishes and textiles on their website, it was interesting to read and hard to understand

Yes, and I think the technician is unfortunately right, all manufacturers more or less have to struggle with the problem ...

Regarding BSH and their 6-liter machines, I had the opportunity to chat with a technician about 2 1/2 months ago, he was also "not amused" because in his opinion the filters cause problems too often.

Now the technician was on site!
As expected, he told me that the machine has no technical defect. However, he clearly pointed out that the energy savings (with all manufacturers) lead to poor washing and drying results. I was advised to avoid using the automatic wash cycle and only use the 70° wash cycle to achieve a good wash result. Only for "very lightly" soiled dishes could the automatic wash cycle be used.
My objection "I bought an expensive dishwasher to save energy and achieve a good washing result" was laughed at and dismissed as not possible. He confirmed that I was misled by the description of the machine. Obviously, he was annoyed by the many complaints he has to deal with.
I told him about my dishwasher in a second home. Purchase price new 180.00 € Chinese manufacturer. The machine washes and dries perfectly. But it has energy class "C"!
Now everyone can decide for themselves what is better.

On the night of October 2 to 3, the machine pumped half the night. I went to sleep at 10 p.m. and it had just started pumping out wash water. When I got up at 4 a.m., it was still pumping.
I lost my patience and packed the machine into the car the same day and took it to Ikea. What I never believed became reality. Ikea accepted the machine back without any problems and I received a full refund!
Now I bought a Bosch! Ikea machine 599.00 € Bosch 428.00 €! See, I even saved some money!!

This and its successor are definitely not worth the money. This is no drying at all when the door is dripping wet after the program ends and the dishes are equally soaked... in addition, there are stains on the dishes (cutlery, glass, porcelain, plastic, ... no matter how precise and carefully you adjust settings for hardness, etc.). Stay away from this scam product! - IKEA may not be to blame, but it now costs me an extra 400 EUR and I’ll buy a cheap Miele with a proper cutlery drawer...

by the way: anyone who has ever loaded a cutlery drawer in a Miele will probably get very frustrated trying to simply put the cutlery into the intended drawer called the cutlery drawer... it wobbles, doesn’t lock properly, disorder and complete chaos...

The appliance is CRAP and worth no more than 350 EUR! ... and if it fulfilled the function that every other normal dishwasher does, then it probably would only have an energy class C...

I have also read about Miele dishwashers that they no longer dry well, so according to experience reports, search for that before buying as well.
