Ok? How did you leave things with the architect? Is there a first floor plan draft without payment? Our first architect wouldn’t have lifted a finger without a signed contract covering service phases 1-4. The first meeting was just a feel-out and gathering of basic data. Don’t have too high expectations regarding the appointment.

We haven’t signed anything yet, but want to build with the general contractor if everything fits. It just goes to show that not everything follows the same pattern everywhere!

I never said that! Of course it is important to have a window in the bedroom and, as already mentioned above, it is even mandatory! I really sometimes don't understand how one can take a statement and turn it into something completely different!

That means you don't have a completely independent architect but one through the GU. Then there will already be a draft.

A GU usually presents you with a draft that somehow corresponds to your space program. Sometimes they are adapted model houses and sometimes the seller plays Sims
