Of course the architect should design freely, that would even be our wish! We are meeting in person now because our contractor wanted to roughly know how we imagine it (rough floor plan) and the architect then adopted everything I handed over 1 to 1 exactly as it was. Therefore, I am currently just thinking. Time is running and we want to slowly start, but the floor plan also has to be finalized!

You have already been to an architect? From the general contractor? And you already have a draft? And now you are going to another one?

So no matter what... as soon as you take something drafted with you, there will be no more free design.

That’s how it is. Well said. If you show a proposal, they think you want it that way ... even if it’s completely unorthodox.

And no way "carrying a few things to the basement all the time..." but then demanding access to the garden. Ok, all a matter of taste, but I would still prefer to have the daily shopping quickly and conveniently brought to where it is needed every day!

Ok? How did you settle things with the architect? Is there a first floor plan draft without payment? Our first architect wouldn’t have lifted a finger without a concluded contract for performance phases 1-4. The first meeting was just a feeler and to record framework data. Don’t have too high expectations regarding the appointment.
