Now it has been quite some time since my last post and I would like to share the latest status with you.
We will not divide and sell our relatively large plot of land of about 1400 sqm for the time being. We want to keep it open for at least 10 years (before that taxes would be due upon sale) regarding what should happen with the plot.
We have enlarged the house to 10*12m (185 sqm on the ground floor + upper floor), added a covered passage between the garage and the house, as we no longer liked the option of direct access. Our plot is located on a play street, but it is still relatively busy and on our side there is no curb. We will build the house up to the building boundary 3 meters from the street. The driveway/entrance thus offers more space for the kids and has a direct passage to the garden.
We have debated for a long time whether to swap the kitchen and living room and have stuck with the original version and want to keep the office on the ground floor. We will provide the kitchen facing southeast with a sliding door and there should be a small terrace for grilling, herbs and a seating area for morning coffee.
In the basement, we have also given the room + bathroom facing southeast a light well. The latest insight from a neighbor’s soil survey is that rock comes relatively soon (from about 2 meters). What this means in detail for the light wells or drainage I cannot assess at this time due to lack of knowledge.
We have not made major changes to the upper floor, we have given the bedroom more passage space between the (TV) wall and the bed. The hallway on the upper floor will get a built-in wardrobe. A supply shaft from the roof to the technical room passes at the height of the walk-in closet/office.
How do you see the latest draft? Criticisms, tips and advice are gladly accepted. I still see potential for optimization in the window design and in the large bathroom on the upper floor.
Sorry, unfortunately the general contractor was stingy with dimensions and quality in these plans. A request for a newly dimensioned version is underway.
