Yes: a staggered shed roof with one shed over the upper floor, and over the terrace it then continues downward as a pergola with the solar modules on top - that would have originality right away.

I always need to see something like that visually once and unfortunately cannot find a picture of it online. A pergola is basically a nice thing so that you can get a bit of shade in the height of summer, but as I said, everything also has to visually fit together. If someone has implemented something like that and has pictures, feel free to share!

The living area would be too small and uncomfortable for me. Is a three-seater really supposed to just stand in the room like that? Is that enough for a family of four? Everyone has to pass by this sofa, maybe someone is sitting behind you eating or cooking next to you, you don’t have any peace there. I also like such parent-child areas, but not in such a small house. Your children get a whole floor and the rest has to be on the ground floor. The children are already 16 and 7 years old, right? What is planned in 5-10 years when the children have moved out? Then you have the entire upper floor empty and everything on the ground floor is very small, or do you have another use planned for the upper floor? I would make the doors a bit higher, 2m does not look very good.

Best regards Sabine

I am always open to tips but what else should go upstairs? We have a single-story design!

I also think the idea is good, but the door of the utility room next to the sofa? I don’t know... in my opinion, there needs to be a different staircase that then lies next to the living room wall and behind it the utility room. If the washing machine spins right next to the TV (even with a thick wall and a good door, you will probably hear a bit) I don’t find that very relaxing.

here is a suggestion from me (I am a fan of simple building forms). if interested, there are also a few more dimensions. first without windows

GF:
Exterior dimensions 11.50 m x 10.50 m
93.41 m²
Staircase 2.20 m x 2.20 m (according to my stair calculator this should work)
I would place the garage at the top of the plan

UF: 7.00 m x 10.50 m
54.01 m²
Storage room omitted, instead enough storage space in the hallway

Total area 147.42 m²
