Ikea Fyndig kitchen wall cabinets

I was at Ikea yesterday and afterwards at the hardware store, and I will now install them with the regular hanging rails from the hardware store (that was even the tip from the friendly Ikea employee). It is probably the simplest, most straightforward, and probably also the cheapest method.

Do you have a drywall partition or why do you need the rail?

All in all, it tends to be more expensive, but the use of the Metod rail requires that you get the hangers from METOD as spare parts. Another use, i.e. not as spare parts, is not intended, so a furniture store might not want to order the parts and refer you to the bargain bin or the hardware store.

Exactly those I also looked at in the hardware store. The problem is that the wall is 1. crooked and uneven and 2. the pipes are not clearly indicated despite using a pipe locator (old building). To achieve a good result, using such a rail is the most sensible option, and I am more flexible when drilling the holes. And I would rather invest the 30€ than end up drilling into a pipe or having the cabinets hanging crooked on the wall. ;)

I also had that with the cable locator. It lit up almost everywhere. I then drilled where it didn't light up and hit a cable :(

The first time we thought the device was broken because it was really lighting up everywhere. And when we had found and marked a "safe" spot and checked again, it lit up red again. Unbelievable :D So then came the triple safety: cable locator, the mounting rail, and logical thinking about where cables should run. It will probably go wrong ;)
