As far as I understood, the house was bought/built around that time for a "fraction" of the current market value, wasn’t it? Certainly at a great price, maybe even a "bargain".... no idea....
Nope. It was about the price increase over the last 10 years. The whole time. I never said otherwise.
Surely everyone here understands that, even me!
Well, at least something.
But I also can’t complain that interest rates on construction loans were 10% back then or that my inheritance evaporated in the war. I can complain, but who cares? Imagine how annoyed those were who inherited in 2007 with the old tax allowances or those who missed a subsidy by three months......
Of course you can complain if you think there is unequal treatment. The fact that there were much bigger injustices at some point is no reason for inaction.
The rules valid at the respective time apply, that may bother you and me, but feeling "loss of homeland" and virtually expropriation is, in my opinion, going too far. You didn’t write that you think this tax should be changed, but rather conveyed that your economic life is on the brink and that the hard-earned family wealth is being destroyed by the state.
There was a lot of drama in your account, which people here did not imagine themselves, and that’s what most were annoyed about. The drama, not the desire to change a tax. You should reread your posts.
Well, now you’re exaggerating, aren’t you? I said we don’t have the money and would have to take out a loan or sell. And that when selling you lose your home (or we agreed on parents’ house now, since the term home is too emotionally charged) and that it must be legitimate not to want that.
Still, I’m surprised that you haven’t addressed a single suggestion from the users here or asked specifically, but stubbornly repeated almost the same thing as if others don’t understand.
To my knowledge, I liked the ideas I liked. There are also things I don’t want, simply because I find them incompatible with our lifestyle. But I don’t want to elaborate here. That was never the point.
For the hundredth time: I just wanted to point out the no longer adequate tax allowances in case the legislator wants to treat today’s heirs the same as those from 10 years ago in terms of equal treatment.
Do we perhaps have one of those East-West (Ossi/Wessi) discussions in the background here? I’d actually find that fascinating because, unfortunately, it hasn’t really happened yet in society. In our multicultural family here (I as a West German am the multi), we do this again and again, and both sides almost get shocked by what often still lurks in the back of their minds.
At this point, I’m out.
