Smarthome - Which system for new construction?

Good looking, but way too overpriced. Stick with the GIRA switches – you get more out of them.

And how many systems do you know that even try this? Basically, you only need the appropriate sensors.

I cannot judge that. The question is, what is the ultimate goal? Might a KNX knockoff be cheaper in the end, even though it is more expensive in a direct comparison with the same functionality? Could I possibly reach my goal more cheaply with a system that is more expensive with the same features, because I would achieve much with it that a system that is cheaper with the same features would not exploit? Complicated sentence, but maybe it is clear what I’m getting at.

The answer is just as simple. No. KNX components can do more but depending on the manufacturer also less. So it can be perfectly adapted. With Free@Home you have one manufacturer. That means sink or swim with consistently higher prices.
