Defensive offer, or have house prices become so expensive?

In the case of as-is contracts, I can only advise having an expert/structural engineer inspect the house before purchase. Especially with the size, renovations are harder to absorb.

Old building windows with muntins that are not just glued between the panes are significantly more expensive. If you also want them to open in the middle, many manufacturers are excluded. Of course, you can also use modern windows, but they usually look dreadful. On my bike ride to work, I pass an industrial villa in the Reform style where the white muntin windows were recently replaced with anthracite-colored window frames without muntins during a luxury renovation. It looks as if someone had gouged out the eyes.

Windows with fancy designs are of course more expensive, but this has nothing to do with a "custom size" (as long as we are not talking about free forms).
