Gas prices - Where is gas still affordable?

You have to thank the previous governments who did everything to phase out nuclear power and coal at the same time and to fill the gaps with the electricity generation from Russian gas. At the same time, citizens were pressured to replace oil heating systems with gas. The current government can actually do relatively little about it; their biggest mistake is probably that the gas electricity generation was not ended by Easter but that the steps are only now being taken which will then take effect in autumn.

The current government is not that innocent. Who, except for 4 years, has always been in the government since Kohl? Who pressured that dirty energy has to go away? Honestly, if the war hadn't come, we would all have gotten cheap energy through Nordstream 2 and been satisfied. As long as those up there don't come up with something about alternative energies that cost us money.

You seem to have missed that the "alternative" energies are by far the cheapest and currently saving our (and France's) asses.

Apart from that, NS2 was doomed to fail from the start and was nothing but a single corruption package. That would not have come about even without the bad people in the Kremlin. And only those who don't care about the current Europe-wide harvest failures ("There's food in the restaurant!") could have been "satisfied" with the start of NS2. But hey: it could be a good wine year!

The only thing you're right about: the SPD is bad and must urgently be dismissed from government work and their leader must go to prison.

You are right about the corruption. Or what is it called when a chancellor gives up his job and changes? Still, how many would have photovoltaic systems, high efficiency classes, if they had not been demanded and promoted? Was the Renewable Energy Sources Act surcharge gladly welcomed? I rather remember complaining. The harvest losses would have come even without Nordstream 2. Gas is better than nuclear and coal power. The fact that energy is so expensive now should have been prevented by the use of gas. Even environmental organizations have spoken out in favor of it. A long process precedes the drought, for which there is still no rethinking. It will not be solved by Nordstream 1/2 alone or without. Our entire lifestyle must be changed for that.

I don't know if we are talking past each other. In any case, it's pretty much crap right now and we have to do something. In my opinion, all funds in the area of [Erneuerbaren] are a hundred times better invested than in the other crap. This forum can help all of us get a little bit better and some individuals a good deal better out of the mess.

Hello Deliverer

ok, surely we agree that renewable energy is not capable of providing a base load and never can be. What is the idea here? Making coffee only when the wind blows or the sun shines?
