Gas prices - Where is gas still affordable?

I once talked about this with some people from a university a few years ago... it's not that simple with fuel cells, they're quite "picky", don't like sudden load changes, etc.

I know, but everything is evolving here too.

The best is to drive the compressor of a heat pump with hydrogen - via an internal combustion engine. That way you get the heat immediately and can possibly preheat the air.

If such a construct can't even hold up until it reaches break-even... then in the end you haven't saved a single cent...

I wouldn't say that refrigerators and combustion engines are still cutting-edge ;)

It's less about cutting-edge, it's more about the number of parts/assemblies...
The probability of a defect doesn't increase linearly with the number of parts, but exponentially...

And now let's consider where more assemblies/parts are involved.
In a gas boiler... or a heat pump with geothermal heat pump/air radiator, photovoltaics and this compressor powered by an internal combustion engine...

What can I say - Then probably only a water-bearing wood stove with a hand pump helps

Good thing cars still get going at all these days and airplanes fly with jet engines...
