He now has a gas heating system. It’s not worth converting in the old house either.
Originally, the plan was to keep it in the new building (which will be on the same plot).
Until a few months ago, it was still the cheapest heating option.
Now new planning is necessary to see if something else is possible. Photovoltaics and heat pumps also significantly increase the construction costs.

Photovoltaics are optional and a heat pump is more expensive but not so drastically that your story could seriously have any substance ;-)

Anyone planning with gas in new construction has missed the last 10 years anyway.

I fear, dear Sum sum bee, your current costs for gas and electricity will more than double within a year. If you are paying 380 euros now, it will certainly become 800 euros. Probably even more. I would prepare for about 1000 euros monthly. Or start saving now.

Or maybe start thinking about actively resisting. You could visit your SPD or Green party constituency office and talk to them. As Habeck said, this will financially tear apart very, very many people here.

What do you do with all that gas and electricity? How many kWh are €120 for you? For us, that would be about 4900.

that is unlikely, even if you only charge 7-10 cents for self-generated electricity. Forgot the comma? Still, I also find €120 a lot for 100m², but it also depends on the number of people...

The gas deal with Qatar has fallen through. Habeck lied to all of us when he announced short-term deliveries from Qatar. Qatar is not making us a good offer. The deal has fallen through.

Now it is slowly getting tricky with the grand promises of our Minister of Economic Affairs.

No ships, no LNG terminals, no new fuel rods for the nuclear power plants, no wood, no gas, no oil from Russia. And now no Qatar gas either.

Difficult, I would say.
