Gas prices - Where is gas still affordable?

The problem is precisely that there are tons of old stoves. And even a new stove that is knowingly / unknowingly operated incorrectly can become a fine dust emitter. Apart from the fact that the test values for the approvals – as with most things – are based on ideal laboratory values that the end user never achieves. If you travel to countries where fireplaces are still heavily used in urban areas, you might change your opinion about the "pleasant smell." If you like the smell, light an incense stick indoors ;) at least that doesn’t affect your neighbors.

YES! Oil and coal were once wood or animals that formed in a few decades, just as it happens today. Ergo, in these few decades, the CO2 was bound, just as wood binds CO2 when growing today. The fact that it was then transformed over millions of years and stored for millions of years afterward does not change that. That CO2 was already bound before. In the end – to put it simply – it is claimed that burning fresh wood is better from a CO2 emission standpoint than burning old wood. That is logically wrong. Both make no difference. So either both are bad or both are okay. We have to be honest about that. (I also sometimes have wood fires. But I know it’s not better).

You can also process wormwood. Wood is not only cut into premium parquet.

First of all, that is wrong (keyword humus formation), secondly, the wood didn’t have to die at all, thirdly, the wood could have been used sensibly for another 500 years, rather than burning it DIRECTLY.

But that doesn't help. It takes a very long time to form oil and gas. If you cut down trees that have already reached the end of their life or use dead wood anyway, and then reforest, you have immediate CO2 uptake. And you have new fuel in 20 to 30 years. You don't have any of that with oil and coal.

But wood dies anyway, also all by itself. Just walk through the forests and look at what is lying around.

I ask openly: In your opinion, how many trees must be planted for one burned tree to be CO2-neutral? And how many for one naturally decaying?
