WE will achieve the 1.5°C target on our own. Quite, quite certainly. At least as certainly as the pension. ;)
That sounds arrogant now. But one shouldn't confuse arrogance with education.
I don't want to praise myself, but unfortunately it's true: I have a degree in electrical engineering, know the technology, and can calculate instead of just imagining things. I'm even currently covering my roof with photovoltaic panels. Because I can calculate. Because it's a great supplement. But I don't claim that this will save the world or that it would allow me to disconnect from the power grid. The latter would be uneconomical to the point of ruin, for me and especially for an economy. And as I just explained, it wouldn't be beneficial for the planet if this only happened here.
I suspect that there’s at least as much irony in your sentence above as there is sarcasm in the part quoted from ?
Germany certainly cannot and will not save the world, so what? Is that a reason to continue as before?
I actually wanted to write a long treatise on the historical beginning of the catastrophe here, but I lost the desire. I still have to create a crying smiley here soon
