I would like to warmly recommend Habeck’s Instagram channel to you. I find it very refreshing. He regularly explains there what he is doing and why, and even occasionally appears in livestreams where you can ask questions yourself. You also get a good insight into the deeper backgrounds, as he often goes into great detail. The "old" media usually only scratch the surface and speculate about everything. And you can see how easy it is to get information from him. Don’t ask me why the media don’t simply use all this information as well.
I believe the channel is mostly only known to younger people, but it is very, very well received there. Every minister should handle things like that.

If one can take something positive from this, it is that politics (hopefully) has recognized how dependent we are; on at least human-rights questionable countries; I hope that this realization will lead to actions.

Do we get as much gas from the USA as we would get through NS2?

No. NS2 is almost explicitly not mentioned by name in the coalition agreement. What is explicitly stated, however, is: "For energy policy projects, including in Germany, European energy law applies." Operation of NS2 was therefore not approvable upon signing the coalition agreement. Approvability was later established through "Gas for Europe", but the certification process was halted at the start of the war. By the Chancellor, who to my knowledge has an SPD party membership. And before the discussion continues in this direction: the wording in the coalition agreement was certainly not a consensus, but at most a compromise. Which, however, was and is supported by all three governing parties.

No, but the USA and France are our best customers. If they buy less, it hurts more than the closure of NS2. Furthermore, Germany is protected by the USA. Or do you think that we could achieve something against Russia with our Bundeswehr? One should look beyond the horizon. It’s not as simple as some make it out to be.

This is, of course, conceivable. It could also be that extraterrestrial life forms land on Earth and subjugate all particularly well-dressed humanitarian life forms. Who knows.....
