Then think about the risks, dangers, etc., that we (I don’t exclude myself) simply did not want to acknowledge, and with which we have "earned" this prosperity. Currently, I am rather reproaching myself that I didn’t take many of the measures I have now taken already 10 years ago. It starts with housing temperatures, installing photovoltaics (as a tenant only a balcony power plant), even more consistent recycling, energy-saving lights, and so on.
In my opinion, we have fallen into complacency because everything was going so well and have so often switched off our reason. And this is intensified by external factors such as Corona, disrupted supply chains for 2 years, and now the Ukraine war and the increasingly noticeable effects of climate change all hitting us at once. We have a lot to answer for ourselves and should all start by cleaning up our own doorstep before senselessly criticizing "THEM."
I have always done all that consistently; my parents raised me that way. Leaving lights on, standby—that didn’t exist in our household. But of course, there’s always room for more.
I am already in favor of preserving the hard-earned prosperity for the generations after us. But currently, somehow we are burning through everything that was built up over decades in just about half a year. And I don’t understand how anyone can stand by and think that’s all right.
My grandma told me at 87 that she never wants to be cold again and got a radiator. It’s all madness.
I also don’t think politicians have any business being on TikTok. I can’t behave badly in my free time however I want either. And whenever I hear Frau Fester talk, I always think she has never had to do any real work. And all her talk about abolishing cars, etc., she can do that if she wants—but without me.
