Gas without solar possible for new construction?

Didn't they want to stop using gas and oil heating systems for new buildings completely now? I thought that was already decided?!

One or two fortunate career developments and suddenly you have a lot of money left over monthly for photovoltaics and other fun stuff. I was much too pessimistic in my calculations when building the house back then. To the original poster: The plan to start with gas and then switch to a heat pump when prices are lower sounds good.

I am already an older turtle with life insurance policies taken out decades ago. ;-) However, I have promised my husband a caravan-boat, he wishes for that so much. :)

Off topic: The Caravanboat is, at least in Europe, a relatively new development from Hamburg and is neither a floating caravan nor a houseboat, rather a combination of both. It is just great, great, great. :) You can do everything with it, except fly ... not yet. ;-) I assume that this Caravanboat will replace the usual caravans and trailers. From my point of view, there is no longer any reason to buy a caravan or trailer if you can have a Caravanboat. An open house day is planned in Hamburg in August; maybe we can manage it time-wise despite the house construction.
