Upper floor:

- I would move the left wall of the bathroom further to the right so that a wardrobe fits between the wall and door in Child 02.
- Adjust the door opening direction in Child 02 accordingly so that you enter the room instead of facing the wall/wardrobe.
- I don't like the furnishing of the shower bathroom at all. For me, the shower belongs at the bottom of the plan so that the wet area is in the furthest corner of the room.

Ground floor:

- With a span of (~7m?), don’t you run into problems again with the statics regarding beams?
- I would probably put a wall in the access niche in the living room so that the office entrance is from the hallway. That allows for undisturbed work in the office compared to having the entrance from the living room. But that’s a matter of taste. The room is so huge anyway that you could easily section off that corner.
- Why should an island not be possible in a kitchen larger than 16m²?
Given the square shape, I assume the room is about 4m wide.
Then a layout like the attached one would be possible without any problem.

Regards

What happened to the basement access? I'm only seeing that now. Through the kitchen?

I recently asked to be shown some alternatives where we can do without support beams. At some point, a room dimension is reached where it can be done without.

In connection with the design posted earlier, I was told by phone that the structural engineer sees a chance to possibly do without support beams due to the new kitchen wall. Steel beams in the non-visible area were mentioned. That is still being calculated.

The basement access is where the other staircase is as well. However, I was told that the basement stairs are not as long as the other stairs due to the lower story height.

I think you will always have to live with beams for your desired width of over 6 meters. The ceiling has to rest somewhere.

Ah, yes cool. Didn't think of that.

That's why I once asked for an alternative. There must be some kind of magical limit somewhere.

And if the structural engineer is now confident that it can possibly be solved with steel beams; why not.....
