The home cinema in the basement will, if at all, only be realized in the medium term. There is no budget for it for many years. But the room should be there so that I don't regret its absence 10 years later. At the moment, it is clearly planned with the living room. We don't watch traditional TV. Exclusively movies and series on Blu-ray with appropriate sound technology. Everyone has things in a house that are particularly important to them, I think. For me, it is the situation of couch, TV, speakers...

One last sentence on that, then the topic is done for me. Rear effects may be nice in action movies, but ich would not attach too much importance to them. Hearing a car driving from back to front or vice versa does not influence the plot. I also suspect (really pure speculation) that the sound mixes for the home sector will in the future anyway focus more on sound bars. So I would not give the 6.4 meters you wanted too much importance. A good AVR measures the rears accordingly and that's that.

I agree, I wouldn't fixate so much on the 6.40 meters.

I also always wanted at least 5.60 meters like in our current apartment. In the end, it will be 5.20 meters. I had doubts about that too. Now that the ground floor is built, I have to say, that is enough as well.

There are more important things than the [Klotze]...

Whether 30cm or 70cm... you get used to what you have. As long as you don't have to move furniture to get to something, 4 meters are enough.

If we didn't have TVs, what would we then align our sofas to? Everyone has their preferences, hobbies, and ideas. But you also have to reconcile it with reality; budgets are after all limited. I also find it difficult for myself to really figure out what is important for my own house. There are so many nice things, but you just can’t have it all.

You are right . We have now forwarded the discussed points to the architect and are seeing what he makes of it.

After careful consideration, we are moving the kitchen upstairs towards the garden because it is logically and architecturally simply the better solution. Just a privacy film on the study window and done - or maybe a fence with bushes - we'll see. That is decided.

Then he received the request to note down the measurements for me in detail. I mentioned that the hallway seems too narrow to me and provided some possible solutions (the rooms are basically all quite large). I also forwarded the suggestion to have access to the laundry room from the hallway. I am especially grateful for that. A simple but great and above all unchangeable after construction idea!

Now let's see what comes out of it....

I am glad that hopefully there will only be minor changes and that the design as such will remain.
