Well, that there:

that the partition wall on the upper floor projects further away from the stairs, in line with the pipe.

Different staircase, different floor plan. That doesn’t come individually.

Not quite. In my opinion, the hallway should be one meter longer for that. Basically, this ratio of house width to depth already forms a clear axis here. The staircase under the ridge (or where it would lie in a gable roof above this floor plan) is already "right," and any winding that deviates from the straight run here is accordingly a break with the clarity. I would consider the mentioned meter by the garage partially reducible by half, and half again on the remaining stretch.

I can’t follow you there: where does this mysterious frequency come into play that demands exactly six meters forty from your stereo triangle – is that your favorite tone in a theme song, around which the living room must be built according to its wavelength?

Unfortunately, I have trouble visualizing exactly what you mean. I last understood that the staircase goes back a bit, so that the staircase is on the upper floor where the hallway is now and vice versa. That would mean the building would be one meter longer from the front door to the terrace door, or would you see the staircase in the ground floor sort of above the wall where the TV is drawn? I can't imagine that, because then you’d be looking at the staircase from the couch.

The surround speakers should definitely stand with some distance behind the couch and not practically next to the couch. And somewhere then you quickly get close to the TV. We still have a coffee table. And it should not feel cramped. Our TV has a diagonal of 49".

No, I mean the door from the bathroom -> cross out laundry. The bathroom does not benefit from multiple exits.

Regarding the office: I don't know how people behave where you are, but with us, no one stares. No one stops and obviously looks into the windows. They are occupied with themselves here. Maybe one out of 100 is curious, but whether you can even see anything is questionable. If at all, only if the light is on in the dark. But even then, a person sitting at a desk is probably not interesting.
It certainly also depends on what kind of street is in front (audience) and what is between the house/window and the street. Normally, there are bushes or trees planted here and there, which are much more interesting than the person sitting in a room every day. Or even a small privacy hedge? Or do you sit there naked? Then I would consider it.
For me, the private daily life between kitchen and terrace is more important - and also worth protecting.

Best regards, Yvonne

Good thoughts, Yvonne. Kitchen / terrace more important I understand. But why more worthy of protection?

If someone should happen to look stupid, privacy is more deserving of protection, so family life takes precedence over office work.

Made my day! With your TV, a viewing distance of +/- 3 meters would be appropriate; for anything closer, you'd almost need opera glasses. And you say you want to set up a home cinema room in the basement, then I would consider moving away from focusing on the surround system in the living room. What percentage of the movies you watch really have effects from the rears?
