I don’t know the new calculation yet. I think it will be cheaper than the old plan with the structural difficulties. So we would have more money left for the kitchen, a proper interior, technology, etc.

Honestly, I wouldn’t know what to commission differently now. The house now looks roughly the way we originally discussed with the architect based on our ideas. His plan was an attempt to persuade us with something different. It almost worked... but just almost...

He asked to try something of his own, different; we agreed to that. But once it was clear that the draft we had even approved didn’t fit and then only attempts were made to trim the design, during which its real character was lost—let alone the criticism that was read here regarding preprogrammed construction defects...

Honestly, I don’t see any approach. I couldn’t show another house and say, that’s how it should look... besides, it is always a compromise between husband and wife.

Grant me the favor, so let me be the third in your group

However, one must hope that the construction will be somewhat cheaper with fewer structural quirks.

Such things should be reserved by an architect for his own house. Imagine if it had been technically (economically feasible) buildable: then you would have ended up living in the architect's dream house (!)

Requesting an alternative plan would be feasible. However, I see absolutely no starting point for that. And now just letting creativity run free again.....? With what premise? We don't want Bauhaus style but cube shape? Then we automatically return to the constructive problems.

If someone sees an approach, they are welcome to mention it. Otherwise, we are just going in circles.

There is no such thing as T-bone tofu schnitzel, in "Bauhaus" (even pseudo-) there is always Cubism involved.

But if the Bauwalmdach house style is your taste: fine. Whether the goal of uniqueness is achieved with that, I don't really know: it could be that you start a new trend with it and in five years everyone will want it that way.

So uniqueness only works in connection with Bauhaus / Cubism?

Certainly not, but you have to know yourself what you want and convey that to BU. BU cannot guess your thoughts and cannot classify special requests if applicable. I read through the beginnings of the thread again yesterday: even up to/in #7 in about 10 lines it was not clear that you didn’t want what was drawn.

I assume it is a huge communication problem, of which you are not innocent.
