I don’t know the new calculation yet. I think it will be cheaper than the old plan with the structural difficulties. So we would have more money left for the kitchen, a proper interior, technology, etc.
Honestly, I wouldn’t know what to commission differently now. The house now looks roughly the way we originally discussed with the architect based on our ideas. His plan was an attempt to persuade us with something different. It almost worked... but just almost...
He asked to try something of his own, different; we agreed to that. But once it was clear that the draft we had even approved didn’t fit and then only attempts were made to trim the design, during which its real character was lost—let alone the criticism that was read here regarding preprogrammed construction defects...
Honestly, I don’t see any approach. I couldn’t show another house and say, that’s how it should look... besides, it is always a compromise between husband and wife.
