Why is it actually like this? The 80s front ends 8cm above the ground. It should also still open easily when firmly screwed on foreign devices ???

Ok I understand the problem is not the distance to the floor but the depth towards the base ... Maybe I should just get a regular built-under machine ... are the integrated ones actually screwed somehow to the neighboring cabinets? Do they stand more firmly and are the gap dimensions better than regular built-under ones?

Just prettier. Metod with a machine without a kitchen front already looks very cobbled together. Take a tall Miele, then you can screw on the 80s front.

Apart from freestanding machines, which have their own lid on top, you actually can’t just slide a machine in. Whether it’s built-under machines with a standard front, integrated, or fully integrated dishwashers, you have to screw them in. This can be done either to the two adjacent cabinets or to the countertop, if it is not made of stone, acrylic, etc.

I just happened to find compact dishwashers on the BSH websites ( probably need a new washing machine ) by chance. The larger one is 60 cm high, so like an oven. They are built-in and have stainless steel cladding. Maybe this is an alternative to conventional under-counter machines for smaller households. The 60 cm height grid should fit quite well into Metod with its 10 cm and 20 cm grids, the small dishwashers are 45 cm high, which probably wouldn’t fit that well.
